As a small business owner, I know what it means to make payroll, pay the rent and balance rising costs while taking care of your employees. For many of us, our businesses represent years of hard work, late nights, weekends, and personal sacrifice and investment in our communities.
In Lansing, I’ll work to help small businesses afford employee health coverage, expand access to affordable loans and connect more local employers with funding for job training and apprenticeships. I’ll also push for simpler state paperwork and a fair opportunity for small businesses to compete for state contracts—and get paid on time.
I’ll meet regularly with Macomb County business owners to hear what’s working, what’s getting in their way and where state government can help. Whether you have three employees or 300, small businesses deserve a voice in Lansing from someone who understands the responsibilities that come with signing the paychecks.

Making Housing More Affordable—and Helping You Stay in Your Home
I am a homeowner, and my husband proudly serves as president of our subdivision’s HOA. Across District 60, you can see the pride hardworking families take in their neighborhoods—in the well-kept lawns, carefully tended gardens and homes they’ve made their own. These families deserve a home they can afford, and seniors deserve to retire without worrying about losing theirs.
I’ll work to expand Michigan’s Homestead Property Tax Credit by raising the income eligibility limit and increasing the maximum credit available to eligible households.
I’ll also fight for additional protection for seniors, including an enhanced refundable state tax credit when property taxes exceed 10% of their income. No senior should have to leave a home they’ve lived in for 30 years because their property taxes have outpaced their retirement income.
And I’ll support expanding grants and low-interest loans for essential home repairs, so a failing furnace or leaking roof doesn’t force a longtime resident out of their home. We can make housing more affordable while protecting our neighborhoods and keeping local communities in charge of zoning and development.
Talent is everywhere; access to opportunity isn’t. As a parent of two Chippewa Valley Public Schools graduates, I’ve seen how important strong public schools are to our children and our community. Every student deserves a path to success—whether that leads to college, career and technical education, skilled trades or an apprenticeship.
In my conversations across District 60, I hear from parents and educators about the need for smaller class sizes, access to counselors and more individual support for students. These are priorities I’ll bring to Lansing.
Supporting our school employees is personal to me. My sister is a teacher, and I hear firsthand about her long hours and the money she spends out of her own pocket on her classroom. Teachers shouldn’t have to stretch their own budgets to give students what they need. Our teachers, support staff, bus drivers, paraprofessionals and custodians deserve fair pay, safe workplaces and the resources to do their jobs well.
I’m proud to be endorsed by the Michigan Education Association (MEA), UFCW Local 951 and IBEW Local 58. I’ll stand up for our educators and school employees while supporting opportunities for students to learn a trade, pursue an apprenticeship and build a rewarding career.
I’ll meet regularly with parents, educators and local school boards to hear their concerns and work together on solutions. Every student deserves a safe, welcoming school—and a real opportunity to thrive.

Every family deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood, and every first responder deserves the resources and support to do their job and get home safely.
As the daughter of a police officer who was shot in the line of duty and later became an FBI agent, this is personal to me. I grew up understanding the sacrifices law enforcement officers and their families make. I will always back the blue and stand with the police officers, firefighters and EMS professionals who protect our communities.
As your state representative, I’ll fight for public safety funding that keeps pace with Macomb Township’s growth. I’ll work to include population growth and demand for emergency services in Michigan’s public safety funding formula and pursue a Growing Communities Public Safety Grant to help communities like ours meet increasing needs.
I’ll also fight to bring resources home to Macomb for recruitment, retention, training, equipment and mental health support for first responders. Keeping our neighborhoods safe starts with supporting the people who answer the call.

Healthcare Access & Affordability
When I knock on doors across District 60, health care costs come up again and again. I’ve spoken with neighbors working two or three jobs whose employers can’t afford to offer health insurance—and who can’t afford Marketplace coverage themselves. Others tell me they’re putting off routine health screenings because they’re worried about out-of-pocket costs. College graduates and young adults are delaying dental care because even getting a cavity filled feels out of reach.
It shouldn’t be this way. We work hard in Macomb County, and we should be able to afford basic health coverage and get care when we need it. No one should have to wait for a manageable health concern to become an emergency because they can’t afford treatment.
As a small business owner, I understand that health care costs strain both employers and employees. In Lansing, I’ll bring business owners, workers, health care providers and insurance companies to the same table to work on practical solutions that lower costs and improve access—including preventive care, dental care and mental health services.
I’ll bring the stories I hear at your doors into those conversations, because affordable coverage needs to mean more than having an insurance card. It needs to mean being able to afford to use it.
